Dr. Ken Felix
Dr. Felix is a native of Erie, and he is a graduate of Cathedral Prep, Gannon College, and the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine. Ken joined the staff of Glenwood Pet Hospital in 1972, and in 1975 he became a partner in the business. He was also the staff veterinarian at the Erie Zoo from 1975 until 1995. Now in semi-retirement, Ken still practices 30 weeks a year at Glenwood and retains his share of the ownership of the hospital.
Dr. P.J. Polumbo
Prior to obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University, Dr. Polumbo put her interest and love of animals and nature to use as a naturalist for the National Park Service, the Hamilton County Park District, and the Army Corp of Engineers, wandering from Pennsylvania to Oregon and Mississippi and back. P.J. has been rooted in Erie since 1980 and enjoys taking care of the Erie Zoo animal collection as well as the dogs, cats, and exotics she sees everyday at Glenwood Pet Hospital.
Dr. Erica Redmond
Dr. Redmond was born in Erie and received her B.A. from Hiram College in Biology in 1998. In 2002, Erica graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a particular interest in feline medicine.
Dr. Dan Pierce
Dr. Pierce was born outside Cleveland and spent half of his childhood in Erie. He is a graduate of McDowell High School, Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dan Joined the staff of Glenwood Pet Hospital immediately after graduation in 2004. He became a partner in the business in 2006. Dan also works limited shifts at the Northwest Pennsylvania Pet Emergency Clinic, and he is employed by the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission at Presque Isle Downs.
Dr. Zane Cheropovich
Dr. Cheropovich received his undergraduate degree in 1999 from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. Zane graduated from the Mississippi State University in 2003 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and joined the staff of Glenwood Pet Hospital as an associate. In 2007 he became a full partner in the hospital. Zane continues to pursue his interest in small animal internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. In his spare time, he enjoys art and was pleased to use these talents to decorate Glenwood Pet Hospital during the recent renovation.
Dr. Erica Jewell
Dr. Jewell grew up in New Castle, PA and attended Mohawk High School. Erica completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Mount Union College and received her master's degree in Microbial Physiology from Duquesne University. At the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, she earned her veterinary degree. She now resides in Erie with her husband, her two children, and her two pups. She enjoys scrapbooking, outdoor activities, playing tennis, and hanging out with her family.
Dr. Maura Ambron
Dr. Ambron grew up in northern California where she attended Woodside Priory high school and was the first girl to graduate from what had previously been an all boys Benedictine Academy. Maura later went on to receive a BA degree in Anthropology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a BS degree in Biology from the University of Colorado, Denver. Her adventurous spirit and desire to study veterinary medicine led Maura to the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). Part of University of London, the RVC boasts a rich heritage of veterinary medicine dating back to 1791! Maura's connection with Erie is through her father's family who have lived in Erie for generations. In her spare time Maura enjoys the company of her two Guinea Pigs (Parsley & Peanut) and her Timneh African Grey Parrot (Zazu).
